Seniors Angela Poffenbaugh and Akili Dorsey-Bell screened their documentary, There's No Place That's Home, at the Also-Known-As Film Festival in New York City on May 12th.
Angela Poffenbaugh and Akili Dorsey-Bell produced their project in the Documentary Journalism Workshop during the Spring 2018 semester. The documentary focuses on the challenges faced by international adoptees.
Also-Known-As, Inc. is an organization whose mission to empower the voice of adult international adoptees, build cultural bridges, transform perceptions of race, and acknowledge the loss of the birth country, culture, language and biological family experienced by international adoptees.
In addition to the screening, the documentary is also being used by The Adoptee Rights Campaign in their efforts to inform members of congress about citizenship for adoptees.
