I am pleased to announce that Kirra Franzese has agreed to serve as interim associate vice president for human resources while the search for a successor to Brian Dickens is conducted. As I noted in my message to the campus on July 11, that position will continue to report directly to me as I continue in my role as executive vice president through next June.
Kirra has been an invaluable resource to the IC community since joining the Office of Human Resources in 2002. As executive director of engagement and talent management, she provides strategic direction and leadership in the execution of all aspects of talent management, including talent acquisitions; employee engagement, learning, and development; and employee relations. This includes administration of policies and procedures related to employment and employee relations; providing advice and consultation to supervisors and search committees on recruitment, selection, and other employment matters; and overseeing orientation programs and training and development programs and initiatives promoting professional excellence for all staff. Her team is also responsible for planning and organizing human resources–sponsored events such as employee recognition, the employee picnic, and engaging communities.
Prior to joining Ithaca College, Kirra worked in recruitment and college relations for Corning Incorporated. She holds a degree in psychology from Binghamton University and has been certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
I want to thank Kirra for bringing her own talent and experience to this important position, and I hope you will join me in congratulating her.
