Residential Life Staff Transitions

Greetings IC Community! As some of you may or may not be aware, there have been many changes in Residential Life since the beginning of the summer.

Each year we recruit and hire 1-3 Residence Directors, who are full time live in professional staff in our 27 residence halls and 2 apartment complexes. This year, we saw a larger than expected turnover and have hired six new RDs! Please join me in welcoming Sarah, Ahmad, Eileen, Andre, Samuel and Patricia! A short bio for each staff member is listed below.

• Sarah Boniche, Residence Director for Landon, Bogart and Clarke Halls, completed her BA in Sociology and BS in Human Development, along with a Master of Public Administration at Binghamton University.
• Ahmad Boyd, Residence Director for Eastman and Lyon Halls, completed his BA in Sports Studies at Ithaca College, and is currently working on finishing a MS in Exercise and Sport Science here at IC.
• Eileen Harrington, Residence Director for Boothroyd, Rowland and Tallcott Halls, completed her BA in Business and a Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution at Salisbury University.
• Andre Lynch, Residence Director for Hood, Hilliard and Holmes Halls, completed his Bachelor of Technology in Law Enforcement Leadership and Management, and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership at St Lawrence University.
• Samuel Swarts, Residence Director for Emerson and Garden Apartments, completed his BBM and MBA at Lincoln Memorial University in Texas.
• Patricia Wall, Residence Director for East Tower, competed her Bachelor of Science in Television-Radio at Ithaca College.
• Sam Bobbe, Ronnie Benion, and Sam Guter continue as returning Residence Directors, and Angela Kramer as the Interim Community Director in the Circles.

We have also seen some transition in other critical department staff positions. Please also join me in welcoming:

• Laura Davis began work with us on Monday, June 4, 2018, as our new Assistant Director for Housing Services and Communications. Laura joins us with over ten years of professional experience in Residence Life at Cornell University. Laura fills the AD position formerly held by Linda Koenig.
• Samantha Stafford joins us on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, as Assistant Director for Residential Education. Sam has ten years of work experience at IC as a Residence Director, and most recently as the Assistant Director for Leadership Programs. Sam fills the AD position formerly held by Jacqueline Winslow (who transitioned to the Director for New Student and Transition Programs Office here on campus).
• Alex Devers transitioned from his position as Community Director in the Circle Apartments to Interim Assistant Director for Staff and Programs for the Quads/Emerson/Garden Apartments Area.
• Beth O'Neill is now serving as the Interim Associate Director for Residential Life & Judicial Affairs.

And there are a few more to come! We have two searches underway for a second Assistant Director for Staff and Programs (formerly held by Maggie Wetter, who moved to the Title IX Deputy Coordinator position in Legal Affairs this past Monday), and an Information Technology Manager (formerly held by Ron Poole, who retired on May 25, 2018).

Welcome to all of our new staff! We are excited to welcome the class of 2022 and look forward to working with our many campus partners!
