Interested in working in student affairs at colleges?  Like to be involved and help students learn and grow?

The Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life invites all Ithaca College students to earn a certificate in Leading in Student Affairs through the Emerging Leaders in Student Affairs Program.

This program is for driven students interested in pursuing a career in student affairs. Students will be introduced to career possibilities specifically in higher education. 

Program Benefits:

Requirements of the program include the following:

  1. Completion of three required Student Leadership Institute (SLI)  sessions. They will be offered each semester.  

  2. Completion of three additional Student Leadership Institute (SLI) sessions within each of the following categories: Leading Self, Leading Others, and Leading in a Diverse World. A list of approved topics will be provided from each category for each block of offerings. Completed sessions must be from this approved list for block I.  Additional sessions will be added for each block..

  3. Completion of a brief reaction paper after completing all six SLI sessions.


*Students will have 2 years to complete the requirements to qualify for certification.

To sign up for SLI sessions, visit the SLI Engage site. RSVP’s must be completed 48 hours in advance to receive credit for the session.  Act quickly, the first required session is scheduled for October 4, 2018!
