Register for two new programs offered by the Center for Faculty Excellence.
I C TEACHING: Three Days of Teaching Visits
When: Monday, October 1st, Tuesday October 2nd, and Wednesday October 3rd
Would you like to watch one of your colleagues teach to see how they engage students, manage the classroom, or address challenging subjects? Do you ever feel the empty isolation in learning to teach? You’re not alone. Too often in higher education we instructors do not have the opportunity to watch and discuss each other’s teaching, and therefore we struggle in what Lee Shulman has called, “pedagogical solitude.” The Center for Faculty Excellence works to shift this isolation by creating opportunities for pedagogical community.
This semester we are proud to offer three intensive days of teaching visits. On October 1, 2, and 3, classes taught by some of the most well-respected (and willing) instructors across many disciplines will open their classroom doors to faculty of all ranks.

Teaching Conversation Series
When: Multiple dates, See the CFE EVENTS page to register
Do you feel that you never have a minute to think about what happened in the classroom? How can we make time to reflect, talk, and learn in our teaching lives? Please join your colleagues for semester-long, recurring discussions over lunch. Cross disciplinary faculty facilitators will co-lead hour-long informal teaching discussions (with Judith Ross-Bernstein, CFE) in a reflective format so that together we can share pedagogical narratives, strategies, joys and dilemmas common to us all. Lunch is served.
