During the 2017-2018 academic year, Career Services began prototyping a new Career Communities service model in order to leverage the wide-range of career expertise that exists within the greater IC community (alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, friends, employers) on behalf of students. This work was done in collaboration with many stakeholder groups, including students, and resulted in the development of five industry focused career communities and nine equity affinity based career communities.

An exciting next iteration of this work is the launch of a new web-based resource that will now serve as the Career Services website.  Powered by uConnect, an industry leader in creating fully integrated web experiences, this highly customized resource provides users with 24/7 access to:

• Cutting edge career tools and resources
• Community focused career content (articles, videos)
• Mentors and networking resources
• Job, internship, and fellowship opportunities
• Career related events

Users of the site will find information from key integrated resources, including Handshake, IC Mentor Connect, Engage, and LinkedIn, within a single unified interface.  Users can further enhance their experience by selecting topics of interest in order to receive notifications when new content is available.  Further enhancements to the site will be on-going, including a single sign-on feature, anticipated by the end of the fall semester, that will allow for seamless transition between many of the integrated resources.

This exciting new resource can be accessed at: www.ithaca.edu/careers and feedback from all community stakeholders is welcome and appreciated.
