How can we combine insights from disciplinary experts to address complex issues? Guest experts from a variety of disciplines will discuss how researchers and practitioners in each of their disciplines would address a common issue. Techniques are introduced to combine their insights and lead to deeper understanding and more powerful solutions. Pass/Fail. 1 credit. No prerequisites. LA.

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all.
Pain is a sign, a symbol, a cause, and an effect. Pain is in the human brain and mind. Industries thrive to understand and help humans deal with pain. Sometime they cause pain. Pain is also a song and a musical project in Sweden. In this course, we will examine how pain is used as a symbol and an artifact, a physical and mental entity, and explore the extent to which pain is studied and thought about from many dimensions. If you’ve ever known pain, this course is for you.
