The Teaching & Learning with Technology team is providing multiple opportunities to collaborate with peers and learn from each other this semester through a variety of Learning Series sessions. See below for a detailed list of November TLT Learning Series events.

The full calendar, a detailed description of each event and link to RSVP can be found on the Teaching & Learning with Technology event page by clicking here - https://www.ithaca.edu/it/tlt/events/ . We look forward to seeing you at one of our November TLT Learning Series events.

Apps & Appetizers: Communication Apps for Asynchronous Discussion

Join us for a special drop-in session and we will show you how applications like VoiceThread, Sakai Discussion boards, and other digital tools can grow student engagement and learning.

Special Event: Sakai Virtual Conference

This faculty-friendly event is targeted toward the teaching and learning aspects of using Sakai, but technical topics are also covered. The Sakai Virtual Conference is a completely online conference with an emphasis on pedagogy and best practices.

Brown Bag Lunch & Learn: Using Online Collaboration Tools to Engage Students in Learning

Attendees will have a discussion and share what online collaboration tools they use to support student learning. We will talk about the struggles of engaging students, grading collaborative assignments, and best practices for using digital tools to support collaboration.

360 Tour Creation Comparison Class

360 Degree tours are perhaps most well known for their use in google street view. With more accessible 360-degree capture devices available, there are even more tools that allow you to easily augment 360-degree photos and videos to make them into interactive learning experiences. Join IT@IC for an afternoon session where we compare some of the most popular 360 tour building tools, recommend some ideal use cases and share our experience using 360-degree tours to help you navigate ways for using 360 in an educational setting.

Demo Days: Explore the Dell Canvas

The Dell Canvas is a 27-inch touchscreen workspace which sits horizontally on your desk and works with an all-in-one computer. The software and supporting hardware and peripheral tools will empower the user’s digital creativity and innovation. Faculty are encouraged to demo the device and provide feedback.

These events are hosted by IC@IT’s Teaching and Learning with Technology Team. Check out the online calendar for more events! https://www.ithaca.edu/it/tlt/events/
