IC Students Present at Popular Culture Conference

Six IC students presented original scholarship at this year’s Mid-Atlantic Popular & American Culture Association, held in Baltimore November 8-10.

 

Zoe Merod (Art History, ’19) worked with Associate Professor of Art History Jennifer Germann to prepare her presentation: “The Iconography of King James and the NBA’s Political Bible: One Man’s Power in Shaping the Image of the Institution.”

The following students worked with Katharine Kittredge (Professor of English):

Audrey Lang (Theatre Studies, ’20) “There Are No Abstractions Anymore: Comparing the Holocaust to the Mexican/American Border through If I Forget

Alexandria Paul (English, ’19) “The Missing Diva: The Transformation of Broadway Diva Archetype in Sondheim’s Passion

Angelina Randazzo (English Education, ’21) “’My Heart is Infinite’: Multiple Families in The Girl who Drank the Moon

Abigail Rogers (English, ’21) “SKAM: Norwegian vs. American Depictions of Sexual Assault for the Teen Audience”

Andy Yzaguirre (English, ‘20) “Anyone Can be a Super Hero: Moving Beyond the Straight White Alter Ego in Web Comics”
