As we prepare for the extended holiday break, the Office of Energy Management and Sustainability appreciates your assistance in helping us conserve during this time.
As you wrap up your 2018 activities, please consider taking a few minutes to:
- Turn off your office lights and desk lamps
- Turn off the class room lights, conference room lights, displays, audio, and video equipment
- Turn off the rest room lights and small exhaust fans
- Reduce or turn off the hallway and kitchen lights
- Check on your storage areas to make sure they are in safe order and then shut down the lights
- Power down, and if possible, unplug your office computer, speakers, printers, scanners, docking stations, cell phone and tablet chargers, and computer monitors
- Unplug your outlet strips if the equipment connected to it is going to be powered down during the entire break
- Shut down your departmental digital message displays provided they are not connected to the campus emergency notification system
- Consider unplugging your departmental microwave ovens and coffee pots
- Draw your blinds closed to help keep in the building heat
- If you have any personal space heaters, please shut them off and unplug them
Best wishes for a safe and joyous holiday season!
