Dear Members of the Ithaca College Community,
We are honored to be serving as co-chairs of the search committee charged with identifying the college's Vice President for Human and Organizational Development, Innovation and Planning. On behalf of our colleagues on the committee, we are pleased to provide this update on the search.
Your voice has been invaluable
Thank you to those of you who have been able to attend one of the input meetings we have held for this search. Your feedback has been invaluable in informing a clear and compelling vision for this leadership opportunity. If you were unable to attend one of these sessions and would like to provide input, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please feel welcome to email us with your thoughts.
If you have not yet seen the leadership profile, which is being used to recruit candidates and to guide and inform the search and our consideration of candidates, it can be found here, along with other information on the search.
The search committee's charge and progress
President Collado's charge to the search committee is to conduct a rigorous, national search process that produces a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates. From among this group we will then recommend to the president a small number of unranked finalists for further consideration, and the final decision will be the president's.
Our executive search firm, Witt/Kieffer, publically launched a nationwide search in late October and a pool of diverse and dynamic candidates is emerging. The search committee will begin to evaluate candidate credentials early in the spring 2019 semester, seeking to identify those whom we believe can meet the needs and opportunities of the college today and in the future. The search remains on schedule for an anticipated spring 2019 appointment.
Seeking your nominations and suggestions
Your input continues to be both welcome and important. We invite your confidential nominations of possible candidates – all of whom are welcome – which you can email to our search firm at IC-HODIP@wittkieffer.com.
Thank you for your support of this important search, which is of utmost importance to Ithaca College and to the educational and work experience of all members of our community.
Sincerely,
