The Campus Center, Fitness Center and Gannett Center will be closed from 6 a.m. until noon on Thursday, Jan. 10, as the college conducts a shelter-in-place drill in those three buildings. As a result, the Cafe at Park School will be the only food service/café operation open on campus that morning. Signage about the closures will be placed at each building entrance.
The drill is being conducted as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness and response, and is being held during the winter break in order to minimize its effect on users of the three facilities. Supervisors in the respective areas have provided information and instructions to their employees, including student workers, about what actions to take during the drill.
The campus-wide Emergency Notification System and Outdoor Warning System will not be used, and members of the campus community not participating in the drill do not need to take any action, though they are requested to avoid the area during that time.
