The Ithaca Writers Institute, a two-week residential program for high school-aged creative writers, is hiring TAs to work June 29th - July 12th 2019. Housing and one meal per day included.

WORKING HOURS PER WEEK 37.5

ANTICIPATED WEEKLY WORK SCHEDULE Two-week institute; responsibilities would take place at pre-determined hours that may fall between the hours of 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM. A sample day might involve work 9:00 AM-12:00 PM, 1:00 PM-3:00 PM, and 7:00 PM-9:00 PM.

JOB DESCRIPTION The Ithaca Writers Institute, a residential two-week summer writing conference for high school students, seeks four Ithaca College students to serve as Teaching Assistants from June 29th to July 12th, 2019. We may ask the students hired to participate in a paid training session prior to the start of the program. Training details will be discussed during the interview process. Pay is $11.10/hour with a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. Room and partial board are included. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Preference will be given to sophomore and junior Writing majors, but all students of sophomore standing with a strong writing background and some experience within the Writing Department are encouraged to apply. Current seniors cannot apply. Applications from members of all underrepresented groups are encouraged.

The ideal candidates will be responsible role models, excellent writers, and enthusiastic teachers with expertise in at least two of the following genres:

Poetry
Fiction
Personal Essay/Creative Nonfiction
Sci-Fi/Fantasy
Literary Magazines
Editing & Publishing
