Employees eligible for medical coverage through Ithaca College will receive a 1095-C form in late February. The forms will be mailed to your home address prior to the March 4th deadline.
The 1095-C Form provides information about coverage you were offered and enrolled in for calendar year 2018. No action is necessary on your part. We suggest that you keep this document with your tax related item for future reference.
Tax payers are asked on their tax return if they and their dependents had minimum essential health insurance for each moth of 2018. For those of you who had employer-sponsored health insurance, such as what is provided by Ithaca College, it is only necessary to check the appropriate box on your tax return to affirm coverage. If you were enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan with an Health Savings Account (HSA) you will receive a 1099-SA from PayFlex. The 1099-SA provides information for tax purposes on any distributions taken in 2018. You can access your 1099-SA by logging into www.aetna.com or www.payflex.com. Under Documents & Forms select, My Documents, then Tax Forms. You will be asked to check appropriate boxes on your tax forms to provide information contained on the 1099-SA. You do not need to attached this form to your tax return. We do suggest you that you keep this document with your tax related items for future reference.
