Housing Selection for 2019-2020

Fall Selection 2019 information is available on the Housing Portal starting February 5, 2019.

To access the Housing Portal, login to HomerConnect. On the Housing Portal you can: view available housing for 2019-2020, practice room selection, and create/manage roommate/apartment-mate groups.

General Housing Information

• You can create and manage groups to prepare for selection as a group in an apartment. Only the group leader may log in during your selection window to choose housing (see dates and times below).
• Interested in living in a Residential Learning Community (RLC)? Complete a short application on the Housing Portal via HomerConnect for each community that interests you. RLC applications are available beginning February 5, 2019, and are due by Friday, March 8, 2019.
• Once you select housing, you will not be able to request a change to your housing assignment for the Fall 2019 semester until summer wait list applications become available on April 1, 2019.
• If you are a rising senior (completed 5 semesters or more after the Fall 2018 semester) and wish to live on campus you should select housing during your designated time. If you wish to live off-campus, do not select housing.
• If you completed less than 5 semesters and have been approved for off-campus, you will not have access to select housing. If you plan to live on-campus and would like to decline your off-campus approval, log onto IC workflow prior to housing selection.

• Interested in living off-campus? Rising juniors may apply through the Residential Life website. The off campus target has been met and there is a waitlist so off-campus approval is not guaranteed. Rising seniors are exempt and do not need to apply.
  

Rising Juniors and Seniors Housing Selection

(Students who have completed 3 semesters or more by the end of Fall 2018)

• Rising juniors and seniors are eligible to select into single rooms or Garden and Circle apartments. Details about rising junior and senior semester can be found online. See also the housing selection dates listed below.
• Rising juniors and seniors are also eligible to participate in Residential Learning Communities and may choose to live in single, double or triple rooms in Residential Learning Communities only (see the dates listed below).

Rising Sophomores Housing Selection

(Students with less than 3 completed semesters by the end of Fall 2018)

• The majority of rising sophomores will select housing during the summer into traditional doubles, triples, and singles. Details for rising sophomore selection can be found online. Selection will take place over two days over the summer (typically early July). The exact dates and times will be published later this spring. Students can select into any available space for upper year students, including apartments and single rooms.
• Selection during the Spring 2019 semester includes the following options for rising sophomores:
  
  • Apply for and select housing in a Residential Learning Community (RLC). RLC Applications are available February 5 and are due March 8.  RLC housing selection is March 20, 2019.
  • Participate in Block Housing – applications are available April 1 and are due May 1, 2019.
  • Participate in apartment selection with rising juniors/seniors. Sophomore students may be part of an apartment group as long as they make up less than half of the total group (see dates and times listed below).  Please note that apartment selection is very competitive.

• Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019: Residential Learning Community (RLC) applications available for rising sophomores, juniors and seniors in the Housing Portal via HomerConnect.
• Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019: Circle and Garden Apartment Retention starts at 9 AM
• Friday, Feb. 15, 2019: Circle and Garden Apartment Retention ends at 5 PM
• Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019: 3 & 4 Person Circle Apartment Selection for rising juniors and seniors, 7 AM – 5 PM (see the selection key listed below)
• Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019: 5-Person Circle Selection for rising juniors and seniors, 7 AM – 5 PM
• Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019: 6-Person Circle Selection for rising juniors and seniors, 7 AM – 5 PM
• Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019:  Individual requests to live in the Circle Apartments are due by email to housing@ithaca.edu by 5 PM
• Monday, March 4, 2019: Email notifications sent for individual students approved to live in the Circle Apartments
• Tuesday, March 5, 2019: 4-Person and 6-Person Garden Selection for rising juniors and seniors, 7 AM – 5 PM
• Thursday, March 7, 2019: 2-Person Garden Selection for rising juniors and seniors, 7 AM – 5 PM
• Thursday, March 7, 2019: Individual requests to live in the Garden Apartments are due by email to housing@ithaca.edu by 5 PM
• Friday, March 8, 2019: RLC applications due via HomerConnect by 9 PM
• Thursday, March 14, 2019:  Email notifications sent for individual students approved to live in the Garden  Apartments
• Monday, March 18, 2019:  Single Room Retention in traditional halls 9 AM – 9 PM
• Monday, March 18, 2019:  RLC application decisions posted to HomerConnect
• Wednesday, March 20, 2019:  RLC Selection 9 AM – 9 PM
• Friday, March 22, 2019: Single Selection in Terraces for rising juniors and seniors, 7 AM – 9 PM
• Monday, April 1, 2019: Block Housing forms available. Summer Waitlist and Vacancy forms available.
• Monday, April 22, 2019: Summer Waitlist and Vacancy forms due to the Office of Residential Life by 5 PM
• Wednesday, May 1, 2019 : Block housing applications due to the Office of Residential Life by 5 PM
• Summer dates including rising sophomore selection days and block housing awards will be published later this spring.

• 7:00-7:30 AM: Students with 5+ semesters select housing
• 7:30 - 10:59 AM: Students with 4+ semesters select housing
• 11:00-11:59 AM: View all Available housing
• 12:00-12:30 PM: Students with 3.25+ semesters select housing
• 12:30 - 2:00 PM: Students with 3+ semesters select housing
