Thank you so much for your initial support of the food pantry. We had a limited opening last Friday, reaching out to a small handful of students. We are pleased to report that we opened with full shelves thanks to you and your colleagues and were able to serve 55 students in a short 2 hour time frame.
We anticipate being able to open with a full announcement to the campus community by the end of February.
We will be continuing to take donations throughout February and will soon (this week) be able to take cash donations at all retail dining sites across campus as well. Cash donations will enable us to purchase the items that we need on a regular basis.
Faculty, staff and students willing and able to make donations can bring items to the Information Desk in the Campus Center anytime in February. Any donations delivered before 10am on Thursday will be used with a second soft opening later this week . We anticipate being able to open fully by the end of February.
The support of this important initiative has been overwhelming and we hope that you're willing to continue to help as we continue to look for ways to stock this in a more sustainable way.
Items that are most needed at this point include:
Again, thank you for your overwhelming support, the gratitude shared by the students who use this service makes all the hard work worthwhile!
