Posted on behalf of Seondre Carolina, SGC VP of Business and Finance ,
The Student Governance Council would like to inform the campus community that appropriations committee expects the annual budget to be exhausted in the near future. This forecast is based on the amount currently remaining in the budget, and in anticipation of several large incoming budgets.
For student organizations in need of funding later this semester, the VP of business and Finance recommends that budgets be submitted as quickly as possible. In order to request funding your organization must be an OSE recognized student organization.
The weekly deadlines/timeline are as followed:
Sundays at 11:59 PM: Budget submissions are due
Monday Nights: Wednesday night meeting schedule sent
Wednesday at 7PM: organizations present their budgets during their allocated presentation time indicated in the schedule.
Thursday Night: Email notifications sent notifying organizations of the status of their budgets (approved, denied, or tabled)
Please refer to the Allocations Handbook for the specific details about budgets, what can be included in a budget to SGC, and policies the Appropriations Committee abids by. Also refer to the Standardized Price List on SGC’s IC Engage Portal under Documents. After reviewing these materials, if you have any questions about the process or creating a budget, please reach out to Seondre Carolina at SGCBusiness@ithaca.edu or Ali Kelley at SGCBusiness_assist@ithaca.edu.
Friendly Reminder: There are also other sources of funding on Campus including the Residence Hall Association and Deans offices and Academic Departments also give funding. Lastly, fundraisers are always encouraged to raise money for your organization.
