So many pre-spring-break concerts to choose from!

The Wind Ensemble’s concert on Friday, March 1 at 8:15 in Ford Hall will feature the premiere of retired composition professor Dana Wilson’s Concerto for Jazz Piano and Wind Ensemble, as well as guest conductor Joseph Missal leading the ensemble. Missal is this year’s Arnald Gabriel Visiting Wind Conductor. Nicholas Weiser will be the piano soloist.
Several members of the voice faculty and others will present a concert of Music of the German Baroque on Saturday, March 2 at 4:00 in Ford Hall.
Percussion Ensembles will be on Saturday, March 2 at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall.
The saxophone studio will present a recital on Sunday, March 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall.
Tuba/euphonium professor David Earll’s faculty recital will be Sunday March 3 at 4:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall
The Concert Band and Wind Symphony under Benjamin Rochford’s direction will present a concert on Monday, March 4 at 8:15 in Ford Hall. They also welcome this year’s Arnald Gabriel Visiting Wind Conductor Joseph Missal to the podium.
The Chorus and Madrigal Singers have a concert on Tuesday, March 5 at 8:15 in Ford Hall. Sean Linfors will conduct both groups, with the chorus featuring the Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramirez, with tenor soloist Dann Coakwell.
Graduate conductor Raul Dominguez will lead the Women’s Chorale and Choir in concert on Wednesday, March 6 at 8:15 in Ford Hall. Music by Britten and music of Mexico are featured.
And to round off the pre-spring break plethora of concerts, the Orchestras will perform on Thursday, March 7 at 8:15 in Ford Hall. High School piano competition winner Celena Ho is featured in a movement of Beethoven’s fifth concerto. Shostakovich music for strings and Dvorak’s “New World” Symphony round out the program, with graduate conductor Kin Szeto on the podium.
