Joffe will talk about sports journalism and the hazards of independent reporting in South Africa.
Graeme was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He worked for CNN as a World Sport presenter from 1992-1999. In 2007, he co-founded the social responsibility initiative, Township TV, which took television to underprivileged communities and provided them with free entertainment through the year.
Joffe is also well known for his exposes of unethical behavior displayed by government and sporting officials in South Africa. His investigative work led to defamation cases, blacklisting by the government and persecution. Joffe started his own weekly sports newsletter that grew into a digital sports publication. He is currently based in the U.S. and continues his work despite all odds.
