Dr. Evis Sammoutis, Assistant Professor, Music Composition is awarded Second Prize at the inaugural Leo Brouwer International Composition Competition

 Dr. Evis Sammoutis, Assistant Professor, Music Composition, has been awarded Second Prize at the inaugural Leo Brouwer International Composition Competition, for his work Alter Ego I for solo guitar. This is the second distinction for Alter Ego I, as the work was also awarded First Prize at the Andrés Segovia International Composers Competition in Spain a few years back.

 

 Dr. Evis Sammoutis, Assistant Professor, Music Composition, has been awarded Second Prize at the inaugural Leo Brouwer International Composition Competition, for his work Alter Ego I for solo guitar. The Final took place at Buffalo State College on Sunday 17 March. The Chair of the jury was the internationally renowned composer, conductor, and guitarist, Leo Brouwer, who awarded the prizes to the winning composers.
