This summer the Women's and Gender Studies program will be offering WGST 10000: Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies, as an online course, taught by our Dissertation Diversity Scholar, Professor Donny Bellamy.
This three-credit course serves as an introduction to the origins, purpose, concepts, and methods of the interdisciplinary study of gender. Utilizing an intersectional approach, students will expand their knowledge of the historical and social conditions of various genders in different contexts. Additionally, students will exit the course with the skills to examine the social significance of various races, ethnicities, classes, and sexualities.
The class format will combine interactive lectures, reading assignments, online discussions, and small writing assignments.
