Ithaca Athletics Set to Celebrate Division III Week

April 1st through April 7th is Division III Week! As part of Division III Week, SAAC put together a number of indicatives on campus to highlight the student-athlete experience and ways to participate:

1. Games
   • April 2nd
     • Baseball vs. Oswego St. @ 4pm
     • Women's Tennis vs. William Smith @4pm
   • April 3rd
     • Baseball vs. U of R @4pm
   • April 5th
     • Women's Lacrosse vs. St. Lawrence @4pm
   • April 6th
     • Crew vs RIT and U of R @11am
     • Women's Lacrosse vs Clarkson @2pm
     • Softball vs. St. Lawrence @ 1pm and 3pm
   • April 7th
     • Softball vs. Clarkson @ 1pm and 3pm
2. Bomber Bash
   • Bomber Bash will be held on April 5th at 4:00pm at the start of the Women's Lacrosse game.
3. Video Campaigns
   • You Can Play: many teams on campus participated in the "If you can play, you can play video," when the video is released during D3 Week please share it on your teams' social media pages.
   • D3 Week Video: individuals on athletic teams recorded statements on what it means to them to be a student-athlete. When the video is released during D3 Week please share it on your teams' social media pages.
4. Instagram Professor Profiles
   • Many student-athletes submitted photos of themselves with a professor that supports them being a student-athlete inside and outside of the classroom. The photos and statements given by professors will be shared on SAAC's social media pages, we encourage teams to share the content.
5. Bombers Supporting Bombers Days
   • Women's Lacrosse, April 5th at 4pm
   • Men's and Women's Crew, April 6th at 11am
6. Day-in-the-life D3 Week
   • A few student-athletes have been asked to take over the SAAC Instagram for one day during D3 Week, their stories will feature the day-to-day life of a student-athlete at Ithaca College.
     • April 1st: Ari Bernard, Women’s Track and Field.
     • April 2nd: Victoria Sestito. Field Hockey.
     • April 3rd: Gabby Laccona, Softball.
     • April 4th: Warren Watson, Football.
     • April 5th: Adam Nasta, Men’s Crew.
     • April 6th: Peyton Greco, Golf
     • April 7th: Aaron McCartney, Men’s Lacrosse.
7. 50 for 50th Campaign
   • THE CHALLENGE: this year is the 50th anniversary of Special Olympics. The Division III National SAAC is promoting a “50 for 50th Challenge,” but I would like to adapt it slightly. The goal is to have every Liberty League student-athlete gather and donate $1.00 toward Special Olympics during Division III Week, April 1-7, 2019. While 1 dollar seems like a small number, there are approximately 6,000 total student-athletes at our member schools, which would yield about $12,000 for Special Olympics. There are lots of ways for schools to achieve that goal (have each team take up a collection, set up a collection at a game, etc.). Please give a dollar to your team's SAAC reps and they can hand it into Erienne Roberts.
