On Campus Fall Internships for Business, Communications, and Education Students!

Meaningfully contribute your skills to a dynamic team on campus that reaches an international audience through media literacy advocacy. 

Seven internship opportunities are available for Fall 2019! We are open to varying credits (1-3) and the hours are flexible!

Looking for the following interns:

IC Public Relations Connector    

In this role, you will help strengthen Project Look Sharp’s connection with the college by sharing our curriculum and initiatives with relevant faculty and programs. This will entail conducting local research, writing targeted emails, attending campus events, and creating additional marketing materials and campaigns at times. Qualified applicants must have a deep understanding of the college community and expertise in research and marketing. An eagerness to contribute ideas, collaborate with others, and learn along the way is necessary as well.  

Graphic Designer

Build your portfolio and help Project Look Sharp design a plethora of materials needed for their marketing and professional development efforts! Design tasks may include creating social posts, website banners, print flyers, powerpoint templates, and infographics. Qualified applicants must be competent in using InDesign and Photoshop, have a portfolio of work to share, and be open to feedback - at times willing to produce multiple drafts for the ideal end product.      

Business Operations Support

Project Look Sharp has recently shifted to cloud-based, digital operations systems to enhance efficiency and productivity. While the platforms have been set up and everyone is on board, there still is much to do when it comes to smoothly using the interfaces and leveraging all their potential. Through this internship you would help the team by writing up process documents and guides, answering specific questions relevant to the platforms, analyze how effective the systems are and suggest revisions through rigorous reports, and research additional opportunities for increased workflow. Qualified applicants must be tech savvy, quick learners who are well versed with Google Suite and eager to create clarity from chaos. The ideal candidate will also be able to share insights gained from business management courses and have familiarity with Zapier and project management software.       

Professional Development Analyst

Help Project Look Sharp enhance their professional development offerings by supporting the design of training materials, analyzing surveys, collecting testimonials, and reviewing rubrics to determine the success of different initiatives. Qualified applicants must be detail-oriented, data-driven, and collaborative with expertise in research and reporting. The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of 21st Century pedagogies and online learning practices.      

Website Support    

Project Look Sharp is in the midst of overhauling their current website and enhancing the way they present their materials and services online. Through this internship you’d help inform important decision by contributing insights gleaned from Google Analytics and suggesting Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies. Qualified applicants must have a firm, foundational understanding of both Google Analytics and SEO and be eager to come up with creative solutions backed by data. The ideal candidate will also have coding and marketing knowledge and experience.       

Social Media Support  

Gain hands-on experience helping Project Look Sharp create concise, engaging social content that leverages trending hashtags, influential handles, and sleek design graphics. Qualified applicants must be creative, strategic, and confident using Hootsuite, Twitter, and Facebook. Graphic design and copywriting skills a plus. The ideal candidate will have experience managing social media for a client and can show examples of their work.     

Copywriter   

Help Project Look Sharp convey their offerings through compelling messages displayed on flyers or distributed through emails. Qualified applicants must be able show examples of work illustrating their ability to write concise content that appeals to a particular target audience. The ideal candidate will have marketing and/or PR knowledge and experience working with a client.

Project Look Sharp is a nonprofit on-campus organization that supports media literacy integration for K- College classrooms by providing media literacy curricula as well as online and traditional workshops for educators.  Join our team this upcoming spring to help disseminate critical thinking and media literacy skills for our diverse international audience.
