Barney Beins will assume the position of president-elect of the Eastern Psychological Association (EPA) in 2020 and will be president in 2021. EPA had its beginning in 1896 when psychologists in New York City began regular meetings. Today, the association’s annual convention attracts psychologists from diverse areas of the United States and Canada.
Professor Beins is currently a member of EPA’s Board of Directors and its Program Committee. He is also the EPA historian. EPA has grown from seven presentations at its first annual meeting to over 800 posters and more than 100 sessions with over 2,600 authors. Ithaca College Psychology students regularly attend and present at the EPA convention. This year 19 students from 5 research teams presented 9 posters at the convention in New York City.
