After considerable and thoughtful planning by Ithaca College’s Senior Leadership Team, the 2019-20 meal plans have been specifically crafted to address cost of attendance and food insecurity on campus. “The structure of the new meal plan model is inclusive, affordable and easy to understand,” stated, Bill Guerrero, Vice President of Finance and Administration at Ithaca College.
This fall’s resident dining community will see a drastic departure from the tiered meal plans offered in past years. One plan, “Unlimited” will allow students’ unlimited access to all dining halls and $230 in Bomber Bucks to use at retail dining locations across campus. The new Unlimited plan lowers the price below that of the standard default plan (the current 14 Blue meal plan), and increases the amount of Bomber Bucks to $230 from $180, a 20% increase. Student Governance Council President, Alyse Harris commented, “It is wonderful to see the meaningful administrative responses to student concerns. I am very excited to see the innovation coming to dining and how IC remains dedicated to creating the best student experience possible. As students, let's be energized by this change and patient with the hardworking staff that are making these important updates to our campus dining program”.
The new Unlimited meal plan is required for all students living in the campus residence halls and is an option for students living in on-campus apartments or off-campus.
The Off Campus and Apartment Meal Plan structure has also been completely revamped to better accommodate to students needs at a reduced meal plan price. The 2018-19 tiered “7 plans” will make way for the new 5 Meal Plan, which lowers the meal plan price below the 2017-18 pricing model, while providing a substantial increase in Bomber Bucks available to students.
The new Off-Campus and Apartment Meal plan is available to students who do not reside in traditional campus housing.
