Ithaca College Board of Trustees Awards Promotions to Faculty

Congratulations to the 10 members of the faculty who were recognized with promotions by the Ithaca College Board of Trustees at its May meeting.

Department of Communication Studies

Robert Sullivan, who earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park and his M.A. and B.S. from Emerson College, was promoted from associate professor to professor.

Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences

Courtney Gray, who earned her M.S. from Kirkwood College and B.S. from Ithaca College, was promoted from clinical associate professor to clinical professor.

Department of History

Michael Smith, who earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University at Bloomington, M.A. from Villanova University and B.A. from Truman State University, was promoted from associate professor to professor.

Department of Journalism

Mead Loop, who earned his M.A. from the University of Missouri at Columbia and his B.A. from Ithaca College, was promoted from associate professor to professor.

Department of Mathematics

Aaron Weinberg, who earned his Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and his B.A. from Williams College, was promoted from associate professor to professor.

Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies

Jack Bryant, who earned his M.F.A. from Boston University and his B.A. from Western Kentucky University, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.

Department of Philosophy and Religion

Craig Duncan, who earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and his A.B. from Brown University, was promoted from associate professor to professor.

Department of Theatre Arts

Kathleen Mulligan, who earned her M.F.A. from Southern Methodist University and B.F.A. from Boston University, was promoted from associate professor to professor.
Don Tindall, who earned his M.F.A. from Purdue University at West Lafayette and his B.A. from Central College, was promoted from associate professor to professor.

Department of Writing

Thomas Girshin, who earned his Ph.D. and M.A. from the State University of New York at Binghamton and his B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany, was awarded tenure and promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
