Office of Facilities – 2019 Mid-Summer Construction Pictorial Update

Colleagues:

The Facilities team is busily preparing your campus for the upcoming academic year. We are committed to executing numerous capital projects during the compacted summer construction season so that the academic year instructional program is not impacted in any way. For those of you who are on campus during all or portions of the summer months, our apologies for the occasional noise, dust and other inconveniences associated with these kinds of construction efforts. I sincerely thank you for your patience as we work to improve your campus.

A pictorial update of the following projects is being shared to illustrate progress to date on a number of important renovations and enhancements:

• Williams Hall Roof Replacement
• Mouse Lab Update (classroom renovation)
• Card Access: Job, Friends, Textor, Muller 
• Textor Lecture Hall Renovations
• Job/Textor mechanical upgrades
• Job Boiler/Textor HVAC Replacement 
• ADA Projects (Parking Lots and Walkways)
• Gannett Library Coffee Station Upgrade
• Terrace Dining Allergy Free Addition
• Terrace Dining Patio and Fire Pit
• Towers Dining Renovations (including an all-gender accessible restroom)
• Hill Center Gymnasium Floor – resurface and refinish
• Whalen Electrical Duct Bank Repairs
• A&E Media Screen installation project 
• Residence Hall Projects
  - College Circle balcony repairs
  - Boiler and hot water tank replacement in College Circles
  - Carpet and floor refinishing (numerous residence halls)
  - Painting (numerous residence halls)
  - Terrace 3 & 7 Boiler project (new mechanical spaces)
  - Terrace 3 & 6 – ADA/All-Gender Bathroom Renovations
  - Terrace 7 – Kitchenette addition

Additional projects are either just underway or about to begin. Hence, the following projects will be included in the pictorial update at the conclusion of the summer construction season:

• Paving – J-Lot, Terrace Road and miscellaneous patching
• Naloxone Cabinet Installations (numerous residence halls)
• CNS LED Lighting Upgrade Phase II
• CHS Atrium – Enhancement of student gathering space
• Office addition (Physics/Astronomy)
• Overhead Shelving installation – Physics Lab
• Muller Chapel – Aesthetic Upgrade and LED Lighting additions in Sanctuary 
• Small Renovations in Park Communications –  New Door/Window
• Chestnut Living Lab (Sustainability Residence Hall Room)
• AV Projects (collaboration with IT Department to update technology in specific locations in the following buildings):
  - Friends Hall
  - Hill Center
  - Muller Chapel
  - Park School of Communications
  - Park School of Business
  - Williams Hall
• Additional Classroom Renovations
  - SLPA Ewing Clinic Lab Update
  - Husa (School of Music) Aesthetic and Technology Upgrade
• Kitchen appliances in College Circles #110
