Kiran Nagarkar, 2010/11 International Visiting Scholar in Honors has died

 Prominent Indian novelist Kiran Nagarkar, who served as the first International Visiting Scholar in Honors in the 2010/11 academic year, has died.

Mr. Nagarkar died of natural causes in Mumbai on September 5th. Kiran served as the first International Visiting Scholar in Honors as a Fulbright Scholar in Residence. He taught two courses for Honors, one focussed on his novels and a second on contemporary Indian cinema. While in residence he gave over 15 talks and presentations across the United States.
