General Body Meeting Minutes
September 16th, 2019
Summary:
· Khadija Musa was confirmed unanimously to the Senate as Senator of the school of HSHP.
· There are still several positions open for class senator positions, school senator positions, and other niche positions.
· We are actively searching for students at large to serve on various committees.
· Varsity Athlete Senator Alex Perry assisted Ithaca College Athletics in creating a Diversity and Inclusion statement for transgender students, now posted on the official college website.
New Business:
· Senate Chair expectations:
- Agendas sent out by Thursday/Friday
- All initiatives should be sent through Engage suggestion box at least 24 hours in advance
· Confirmation:
- Khadija Musa confirmed to senate unanimously, 6-0, as Senator of HSHP

Officer Reports:
· President:
- Still looking for positions on senate, committees, and Student Director to the Alumni Board
· VP Communications:
- Physical and online suggestion boxes will be available in the coming weeks.
- Need ideas for a Fall Event.
- New social media presence: will be posting bills, initiatives, and Senate success stories
· VP of Campus Affairs:
- Establishing rapport with student organizations.
· VP of Campus Affairs:
- Assisting with implementation of the Strategic Plan
- Looking for academic senators
· VP of Business and Finance:
- Looking for members for the Appropriations Committee.
· Senate Chair:
- Looking for members for Constitutional Review and CAPS committee.
· Student Trustee:
- More updates to come once board meetings start up.
· RHA Designee:
- RHA meetings take place Tuesdays at 8:15 in Taughannock Falls.
Open Agenda:

· Students of Color Coalition hosting a picnic on September 28th in Stewart Park Pavillion.
· Climate protest at noon on Friday 9/20.
· Protest on police brutality on Friday 9/20 at 4PM at Town County Building.
· Ithaca Cancer Resource Center 5k will take place on October 5th.
· Ourstory is not History will be hosting an SLI called Selma to Stonewall on October 2nd from 6-7 PM in Textor 103.
· Class of 2022 Senator Hunter Simms is looking to restart Ithaca College Democrats and start a dialogue on land recognition on campus.
· International Student Senator Mayuri Pereira is advertising an SLI called “Breaking Stereotypes on International Students.” Information on Engage.
