Contributed by Austin Reid

Lee Gordon is the co-founder of Hand in Hand: Center for Jewish-Arab Education in Israel, and a respected peace activist who will be meeting with members of the Ithaca College community over a free, vegetarian lunch in the Taughannock Falls Room of Campus Center on Monday, September 23rd from 12 Noon to 1:15. Hand in Hand works to support a strong, inclusive, shared society in Israel through its network of bilingual public schools serving both Arab and Jewish children.

Lee's talk will focus on Hand in Hand’s vision of promoting coexistence in Israel through early education. Hand in Hand began in 1997 with only one school and 50 students. Today, there are over 1,900 Arab and Jewish students enrolled in six Hand in Hands schools. Time for questions will be provided. This luncheon is sponsored by Hillel, The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, and The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Austin Reid at areid1@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
