and mobilization - Keynote Address by Parkland Activists

How can universities and colleges in Central New York to come together to promote voter registration and turnouts? The Andrew Goodman Vote Everywhere Regional Coalition Summit will be held Saturday, 28th 2019 at Cornell University to bring Central NY students and campuses together to answer this and other important questions. Plus, keynote address by David Hogg and Samantha Fuentes - student activists and survivors of the Feb. 14, 2018, mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, during which 17 students and staff members died.

Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m. in 401 Warren Hall and the event end by 5:00 p.m.
Goals of the Coalition:
- Bring students and campuses together to share practices and experience in registering and mobilizing voters
- Develop a supportive network of student activists
- Support and coordinate efforts to amplify the voice of young people in the political process
Goals for the Summit:
- Develop a framework for the Regional Coalition
- Develop a communication network for information sharing, support and advocacy for accessible and equitable voting laws and conditions
- Share best practices and learn with and from each other to better support each other’s campus activities
- Be knowledgeable of election laws, particularly New York State and Federal laws
- Introduce membership opportunities with the Andrew Goodman Vote Everywhere Network
