Diwali is a four to five-day-long festival of lights, which originated in India and is now being celebrated by many Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and some Buddhists around the globe every fall.
Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. But it’s not just about lights and religion –– Diwali is a time to have fun with friends and family, exchange gifts and sweets, enjoy delicious feasts, and watch firework displays.
This year, the actual Diwali festival will be celebrated around the world on Sunday, October 27. So the International Club would like to provide a few hours to celebrate and enjoy henna, rangoli (colored powder), Indian music, and Indian food.
