In today's complex media world of "fake" news and social media feeds, it is crucial for all students to develop the ability to analyze, evaluate and create media messages in multiple forms.

Ithaca College's new interdisciplinary Media Literacy Minor - hosted in the School of Humanities & Sciences - is designed to support critical thinking, effective communication, and ongoing habits of inquiry and reflection.

Interested students and faculty can find out more about the Media Literacy Minor at a reception and information session on

Monday, October 21, 5-6 pm in Clark Lounge

Join us for refreshments and conversation with members of the minor's steering committee and current students in the minor.  We'll share a list of current courses that satisfy the minor's requirements, and highlight media literacy internships with local and national organizations, including Ithaca College's Project Look Sharp.

This event is also part of U.S. Media Literacy Week in collaboration with Global Media and Information Literacy Week .  With hundreds of partners from around the world, including the School of H&S and Project Look Sharp, these events highlight the growing field of digital and media literacy in K-12 and higher education, and beyond.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Cyndy Scheibe at scheibe@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-1324. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
