The Belle of Amherst- Performs in Beirut and Ithaca!

Kathleen Mulligan (Theatre Arts) recently returned from performing her one-woman show The Belle of Amherst (based on the life and writings of Emily Dickinson) at the Zoukak Theatre in Beirut, Lebanon.

The Belle of Amherst starts a limited run this week as part of the mini festival of one-woman shows, “Listen to Her”, at the Cherry Arts space. 

 

The Belle of Amherst will perform Friday, November 1 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, November 3 at 3:30 PM. Jennifer Herzog (Theatre Arts) will perform The Saint and Elizabeth Mozer (SUNY Binghamton) will perform her original piece Asylum at alternate times during the festival. The play was directed by Dr. Norman Johnson (Professor Emeritus- Theatre). Unfortunately, two of the three planned performances in Beirut had to be cancelled due to demonstrations in the city and across Lebanon. Mulligan and Johnson were guests of The American University in Beirut.
