Please join us for a gallery reception showcasing I.C. faculty member Lali Khalid’s recent photographic work, Being Between. The reception is Thursday, November 7th, from 5:00 to 7:00 in Gallery 184 (Bottom floor, Roy H. Park School of Communications, Room 184/185B). Refreshments will be served.

Reflecting on the series Being Between, Professor Khalid writes that “I follow myself with a camera because I don’t know where I am going. I follow myself with a camera because I want to see who was with me, and whom I was missing. I follow myself with a camera to remember the way home."

Lali Khalid holds a B.F.A. in printmaking from the National College of Arts in Lahore (2003) and an M.F.A. in Photography from Pratt Institute (2009) where she was a Fulbright Scholar. Khalid was born in Pakistan and immigrated to U.S. in 2011. She uses her work as a tool to explore themes of diaspora, identity, family, and home in her own life and the lives of people she photographs. Professor Khalid joined the faculty at Ithaca College in 2018 and is an Assistant Professor in the Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies Department.

All students, staff, and faculty are welcome. The exhibition runs through January 7th, 2019
