SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16

Faculty Recital: Laura Amoriello, piano

"The Girl Gershwin: Music of Dana Suesse"
Dana Suesse was an American composer of both popular and classical music who achieved fame in the 1930s with hit songs for film and instrumental collaborations with Paul Whiteman and his orchestra. This multi-media lecture-recital will feature solo piano music (Jazz Nocturne, The Cocktail Suite) as well as a song set (Ho Hum, My Silent Love, The Night Is Young and You're So Beautiful).

Louis K. Thaler Concert Violinist Series: Isabelle Faust, violin; Alexander Melnikov, piano
All-Beethoven program:
Violin Sonata No. 6 in A major, Op. 30, No. 1
Violin Sonata No. 7 in C minor, Op. 30, No. 2
Violin Sonata No. 8 in G major, Op. 30, No. 3
Performed without intermission
There will be a post-concert talk back at the conclusion of the recital. Please note the earlier than usual start time.
