The Cancer Experience- Elective being offered to all majors by the Occupational Therapy department
This is a three-credit elective (ICC Social Sciences; Identities & Mind, Body, Spirit themes) open to students in all majors in the spring semester.
The Cancer Experience (OTBS 21000) is a three-credit elective course offered through the Department of Occupational Therapy. Students from all majors and schools are welcome, especially those who have been personally affected by cancer. (ICC Social Sciences; Identities & Mind, Body, Spirit themes)
The topic of cancer will be approached from a variety of perspectives: those of the patient, survivor, family member, health professional and others. Through lectures, discussions, readings, and guest speakers, the student will learn about the different types of cancer, treatments, causes, history, current developments, cancer in other cultures and more.
The course will meet the Spring 2020 semester, Tuesday evenings from 6-8:30.
