The staff of the Center for LGBT Education, Outreach and Services knows that being back at home can be wonderful, but sometimes stressful. And we know some students may be staying on campus or nearby during the break, too. The Thanksgiving break resources page includes additional helpful information including how to find the nearest LGBT community center to your home community or wherever this break may take you, national hotline information, and more.

Some students may consider this particular break as a possible time to come out to family and friends. Coming out is a highly individual, personal process. Only you can know when or whether it's the right time for you. This

This section of the LGBT Center website includes specific resources for you, your family, and friends, about coming out - whether you decide to do so this week, or at any other time of the year that's right for you.

Timely tips for parents and caregivers supporting those who are out, or those who may come out to you for the first time this week, are featured in the article featuring the LGBT Center director "Parents and LGBTQ Kids."

Resources are also always available from the LGBT Center, throughout the academic year. Wishing you a safe and happy Thanksgiving break!
