Rachel Paparone (Modern Languages and Literatures) gave an invited presentation at the biannual meeting of the Association for Canadian Studies in the United States (ACSUS) in Montreal. As an alumna ('18) of the Canadian Studies Teaching Institute sponsored by the University of Maine, she was asked to present successful strategies for incorporating Canadian Studies in French courses at the post-secondary level. Her talk, titled "Teaching Québec in an Atlantic Francophone Seminar," identified Canadian content that could be easily integrated into courses covering Francophone Caribbean literature and culture and highlighted approaches to student engagement with Canada that have been successful in French courses at IC.
