End of Semester Reminders for Instructors from Teaching & Learning with Technology

12/10/19

Contributed by Jenna Linskens

As faculty wrap up the Fall 2019 semester we have two reminders from TLT.

Optical Scanning of Final Exams

Faculty can process scanning jobs at their convenience 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using the Optical Scanning Self-Service Station located in Job Hall 103. With just a few clicks, faculty can login to the software, scan the bubble sheets, send reports to their email, and view test data in minutes. With a larger number of faculty completing scans during finals week wait times to complete a scan may be 5-10 minutes.

Deletion of Old/Outdated Sakai Sites

As referenced in the October 12th Intercom the Sakai upgrade now allows for owners to delete a course site. Course and project site owners are encouraged to review their Sakai sites and delete any which are no longer referenced before the end of the Fall 2019 semester. We recommend starting with sites created before 2015. Any course sites that have been deleted by December 30th will be purged from the system over the winter break.

It only takes a few minutes to delete a site following the instructions in the IT Knowledge Base article How to Delete a Sakai Site

If you need assistance, please reach out to the Teaching & Learning with Technology team by submitting a Service Request Ticket, email the Instructional Media Lab (iml@ithaca.edu) or stop by the IML in Job 102 during open office hours Monday-Thursday 9:00am – 5:30pm, Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm.
