School of Music kicks off 2020 concerts with MLK celebration tonight!

 All happening this weekend at Whalen: Concert in Honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., a faculty recital, and the annual concerto competition.
 

FRIDAY, JANUARY 24
7:30pm  |  Ford Hall
Concert in Honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
The School of Music’s annual celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. will feature the Ithaca College Choir, Chorus, Jazz Vocal Ensemble, School of Music faculty, musical theatre students, and the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers.
Directed by Janet Galván and Baruch Whitehead.
This concert will be livestreamed at ithaca.edu/music/live/watch/ and will be available on-demand a few days after the concert.
 

SATURDAY, JANUARY 25
8:15pm  |  Hockett Family Recital Hall
Faculty Recital: Clarinetist Michael Galván and Friends
With Elena Galván, soprano; Christopher Zemliauskas, piano; Elizabeth Simkin, cello; Xak Bjerken, piano; Wendy Mehne, flute; Paige Morgan, oboe; Christin Schillinger, bassoon; Alex Shuhan, horn.
 

SUNDAY, JANUARY 26

Concerto Competition

Final round of the annual student competition - the winner will perform with the orchestra in the March 29 concerto concert. 


All concerts are free and open to the public.
