Nick Sagan - Assistant Professor, Media Arts, Sciences and Studies (Cinema and Photography/Faculty, Writing for Film, Television, and Emerging Media) wrote the classroom discussion guide for the new season of Cosmos: Possible Worlds (FOX/National Geographic).

Season debut of two episodes on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 8/7c and 9/8c

"This was a fun project to work on, taking the big ideas of each episode and giving teachers a way to address them in class. That's currently being sent to science classes across the country," shares Sagan.

No stranger to the world of scientific documentaries, Nick also happens to be the son of world-famous astrophysicist Carl Sagan who originated the Cosmos series on PBS in 1980. Astronomer, educator and author Carl Sagan was perhaps the world's greatest popularizer of science, reaching millions of people through newspapers, magazines and television broadcasts. He is well-known for his work on the PBS series Cosmos (1980), the Emmy Award and Peabody Award-winning show that became the most watched series in public-television history.

Nick's stepmom, Ann Druyan, is the showrunner and executive producer -- she wrote/co-wrote all the episodes and directed several as well. She's also got a companion book out in stores now. Seth MacFarlane of Family Guy fame is another executive producer, and the show is hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Monday will see two episodes of Cosmos: Possible Worlds airing back to back. The first one's at 8 pm and the second's at 9 pm.  At the very end of that 9 pm episode ("The Fleeting Grace of the Habitable Zone"), there's a voice cameo from Nick.
