We can all do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Using telemedicine to talk with a doctor is a great option to help you take care of your health, while protecting yourself and others.
Teladoc is the college’s provider of telemedicine for employees and their family members who are enrolled in one of the college's medical plans. Now through June 4, Teladoc visits related to the testing or treatment of COVID-19 will be covered with no member cost share in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Teladoc is not limited to coronavirus/COVID-19 related cases. It can be used for any routine medical need such as cold, flu, allergy, rash, sinus infection and much more and you only pay the cost of a PCP office visit if you are enrolled in the POS II plan or if you are enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), you pay a $40 consult fee unless your deductible is met. If your HDHP deductible is met, you pay just 10% of the cost of the visit. That means your cost is never more than $40 per visit.
Members can get care through Teladoc in two convenient ways:
• Online: Visit Teladoc.com or download the Teladoc smartphone app. Use the app to create an account, fill out a short medical history questionnaire and schedule an online doctor visit. Teladoc will provide an estimate of when a doctor will contact you. This is the fastest way to get in touch with a doctor.
• By phone: Call 855-835-2362 to request a call from a doctor. Teladoc will provide an estimate of when a doctor will contact you.
Please note: As the coronavirus outbreak evolves, the need for telehealth care has never been greater. As a result, members may experience extended wait times. Doctors are working to provide the highest-quality care and will connect as quickly as they can. The fastest way to connect with a doctor is to use the app or web page.
