Stephen Tropiano, professor of screen studies, served on the selection committee for the 13th annual Television Academy Honors.
The sixteen-member panel recognized six exceptional television programs that are impacting society through thoughtful, powerful and innovative storytelling. The recipients for 2019 include documentaries At the Heart of Gold: Inside the USA Gymnastic Scandal (HBO) and 16 Shots (Showtime), limited series Watchmen (HBO) and Unbelievable (Netflix), drama series Queen Sugar (OWN) and comedy commentary program Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj (Netflix).
