Study Global Health this Summer- ICC Diversity

05/07/20

Contributed by Amy Frith

Want to explore current Global Health Events that impact us all? Successes and struggles-from COVID-19 to hunger.

Explore the events that are changing our world right now. We will explore how Global Health events- COVID-19 to Hunger- are impacted through movements empowering communities, women and youth. The focus is on causes- and more importantly- global health solutions to global health crises.

This web/online course investigates the reasons that health problems exist and what is being done about them.  Students will learn how they and others can make their world a better place. They will utilize a one world health framework to understand how global health organizations, policies and our own decisions influence the health of all.

Students will read case stories and watch videos illustrating how communities and individuals take charge of their health and combat the effects of inequity with dignity. Text is online through IC library.
