Audrey Lang, recent alum from the Department of Theatre Arts, was interviewed on Playbill.com about her new play in development for the 2020 Pride Plays Festival, You Have to Promise.
From the article: "Familial love takes center stage in Audrey Lang’s You Have To Promise, which follows two “baby lesbians” (as Lang calls them) on their journey of self-discovery. “I feel like love stories are so often thought of as falling in or out of love, and I think [the play] is much more about learning how to love people in the way that you actually need to be loved and that that they need to be loved.”"
Lang, along with the other playwrights featured in the Pride Plays Festival have had to adapt their work to be presented online, as the festival has gone virtual to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions.
The works will be presented this month in an industry-only presentation. Modern Gentleman is directed by Blaze Teicher; You Have To Promise is directed by Jenna Warsham; and For Leonora, or, Companions, will be helmed by a director to be announced at a later date.
