THIS WEEK!    ALEX SHUHAN

Join Horn Professor Alexander Shuhan and the Shuhan Family Players for a brief Zoom concert to start your weekend right. For this installment of “Soliltary Refinement” he’ll be joined by his wife, flutist Elizabeth, and two of his piano-playing sons, Max and Nathaniel, in music by Bach, Piazzolla, Dorff, Godard, Clarke…and whomever else they can cram into twenty minutes. It’s been months since their last public performances, so they’re all thrilled to have this opportunity to share music from their home music studio.

Shuhan began teaching at IC in 1998 and has also maintained an active free-lance career, performing regularly in various regional orchestras, including the Rochester Philharmonic, Binghamton Philharmonic and the Skaneateles Chamber Orchestras. His recordings with the group Rhythm & Brass, of which he was a founding member, can be found on iTunes. A new recording with the Shuhan-Luk Trio will be released soon.
