Zoom Cloud Recordings Deleted After 120 Days - Save Your Data

07/07/20

Contributed by Lisa Efing-Guida

This message is to inform the campus community of the cloud recording policy for Zoom. All Zoom meetings and webinars that are recorded in Zoom’s cloud storage are automatically deleted after 120 days. If there is a specific need to save meeting/webinar recordings long-term, Information Technology recommends downloading the files from Zoom and uploading them into Kaltura (media.ithaca.edu).

To download Zoom cloud recordings, log into ithaca.zoom.us, click the Recordings tab, locate the recording you would like to save, click the More button next to the recording, and click Download.

Most Ithaca College Zoom accounts are set to automatically save recorded meetings and webinars to the cloud. For academic-related recordings it is recommended that videos remain in the cloud and are accessible only via the Zoom link inside your Sakai class (for up to 120 days).
