After careful consideration and a deep-dive evaluation of the newest release of Sakai (20), while also recognizing the overwhelming changes that faculty and students are experiencing as a part of the upcoming academic year, the Information Technology team has decided not to upgrade to a more current version of Sakai at this time.

For the Fall 2020 semester, faculty members and students will continue to use the Sakai interface they have come to know over the past year. While the Sakai learning interface will not have any major changes, users will see a few minor updates in the look as well as user experience updates to some of the learning tools that work within Sakai. Updates include:

The IT team will continue to monitor the Sakai community and evaluate release notes to determine if moving to a newer version of Sakai during winter break or over summer 2021 is in the best interest of Ithaca College students and faculty members.

The IT Teaching & Learning with Technology team is available to provide support with instructional design, tool exploration and integration, and training in Sakai and other learning technology tools. Please contact IT for any questions or support you might need.
