The Center for Faculty Excellence is pleased to host Ithaca College Community Artists each Friday at 5pm. In a mere 15-20 minutes, learn what our community brings to the Arts, and the invariable ways Art invigorates our lives!

Percussionist Mike Truesdell is an advocate for the music of living composers as well as music steeped in past traditions.  He is a 2nd-prize winner of the TROMP International Percussion Competition in the Netherlands, and continues to maintain an active performing schedule.  Additionally he has performed with the New York City Ballet, International Contemporary Ensemble, Pierre Boulez, and recorded with Renée Fleming, Vanguard Jazz Orchestra (Grammy® nominated), and many others.In addition to Ithaca College, Mike teaches in the Juilliard Pre-College and Music Advancement Programs at The Juilliard School, and Rutgers University. A native of Wisconsin, he attended Lawrence University (his former teacher is an Ithaca College graduate!) and moved to New York to study at The Juilliard School (Masters and Doctoral degrees), where his primary teachers were Dan Druckman, Greg Zuber, Markus Rhoten and Gordon Gottlieb.  More information about Mike can be found at www.miketruesdell.com
